God is God Over All Hills & Valleys

I played guitar for the praise team at our church this past Sunday, and there was a new song (to me) that has stuck with me ever since I heard it. It is called Hills And Valleys, by Tauren Wells. Below is his testimony about how he wrote the song.


"When you are on the mountain tops of life learn to bow low;
when you are in the valleys of life, learn to stand tall."

This mimics so much the truth from an older song I sang many years ago and my group the Men of Mercy sing called, God on the Mountain. I can remember testifying at a church in southern Ohio I was serving as youth pastor, and had a similar revelation come to me. It was, 

whether we are on the mountain or in the valley, 
if we keep eyes on Jesus, we will never know the difference. 

Tauren's lyrics communicates that truth much better, much more to the heart, of what I was hearing from the Lord. 

So today, are  in you in the valley? Or are you on the mountain top? 

Wherever you are, remember, God is God right there, His grace is sufficient for you, and keep your eyes on Christ--the Author and Finisher of your faith!

Praying for Revival Will Bring You to Reconciliation

I am continuing to chew on something one of my ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship): What if in our praying for revival it has actually brought us to a sphere of where reconciliation must be exercised? I see this is a wonderful discovery and in my heart I hear, DO NOT MISS THE TWO! They are part of each other. friends said about revival and reconciliation, which has brought me to ask:  Revival and Reconciliation.  Let me dig into this more with something simple: a triangle. A Joshua-Veneered Judges

Without challenge there will be no growth. Without expectation there will be no challenge. Why is it that we think if we expect "too much" out of people they will turn away? Didn't Jesus issue commands and ultimatums? Why should His Church not remind His people of these things? I was challenged by a statement from someone in Sunday School that people "like" the way things are going. This "liking-ness" caused me to ponder the "state of the union" and internalize a "declaration of dependence" for the name of Christ. I repeat, Without challenge there will be no growth.
